Things to do nearby
Our B&B is in the village of Arguenos, less than 15 minutes from the small and characterful town of Aspet. The village itself, nestled at the side of the Cagire mountain, has only a few inhabitants, but local shops, bars, restaurants, a twice-weekly market, swimming pool and activity centre can be found at Aspet.

The church and centre of Arguenos
Its quiet village position lends our house perfectly to anyone seeking to get away from it all and enjoy local walks, reading, writing, painting, swimming, sunbathing and relaxing generally. We have a good selection of books, DVDs, games and an outdoor table tennis table for you to enjoy. A beautiful 9-hole golf course can be found 35 minutes away at Luchon and we can lend you clubs (right-handed). For the more energetic skiing, cycling, tennis, squash and fishing are all at hand.

The district is regarded as one of the best areas in the Pyrenees for walking, with an extensive network of marked routes starting just outside the village. Cycling in the Pyrenees is another great way to explore the area. Nature lovers will enjoy unspoilt countryside brimming with wildflowers, animals, birds and insects - you may be lucky enough to see red squirrels and deer, and even wild boar or brown bears!

The market at Aspet
You can use us as a base from which to explore Lourdes (1 ¼ hours), Tarbes (1 hour), Pau (1 ¼ hours), Toulouse (1 ¼ hours), Albi (2 hours), Carcassonne (1 ¾ hours) and the Pic du Midi (2 hours). The beautiful spa town of Luchon is well worth a visit before crossing the Spanish border (only 40 minutes away) and visiting the bustling Basque town of Bossost, a further 10 minutes on.
